I sewed a button on my shorts just now, because I'm a strong, independent man that don't (always) need no machine.
I feed the birds every afternoon, and today was a great day to take a few photos.
Shooting birds is -hard-. They're very fast, and it is getting darker with every shot as the sun goes down.
But gosh, they're beautiful. ^ _^
Today's turnout included some rainbow lorikeets, scaly breasted lorikeets, galahs, crested pigeons and two crows. ^_^
On #TransDayOfVisibility it seems necessary to repeat: Trans rights are human rights, trans rights issues are human rights issues.
Trans women are women, trans men are men. And I stand with every trans person. Always.
Now that I can "pass" and I can opt out of this double-edged holiday, there's a sense of obligation to make myself visible as a show of solidarity to my trans siblings, no matter where they fall in the continuum that is gender. Those who don't blend into the background, those who feel too afraid to even present as their true selves, need to be celebrated on this and every day, because it's so, so hard to be there.
You're beautiful and strong and brave, and I love you. I hope today is good.
I've been caught up in personal shit and prepping for Passover, I forgot that it was #transdayofvisibility.
It's actually pretty meaningful to me that Passover and day of visibility land together this year. At the Seder tonight, we will remind each other and ourselves that each generation much fight a-new for freedom. For this generation, the fight for trans people's freedom is one of the big battles.

I went to put the new wheels on my Rollerblades and found that the bearings wouldn't easily come out of the old wheels without a tool.
I had no tool.
I used scissors to pry the bearings out, and a foam coaster paired with an empty cider bottle to shove 'em into the new wheels.
Victory. I'll take it.
