Just got through the last part of Gitano on marimba! That's two solos now!
Now I just need to get my accuracy a bit better. Lots of progress!

I have made solid progress on my double lateral strokes on marimba this week.
I'll hopefully get Rain Dance recorded soon. And... I've started learning Gitano (from the same composer as Rain Dance, Alice Gomez).
The skill that I think I need to build next is interval changes in the middle of rapidly repeating double laterals.
I think that playing Psychobilly Freakout on marimba would be hilarious. Too bad I can't parse guitar tabs.
Never tell someone else how they feel. Ask. As much as you'd like to empathize, your take can always be off by a few important degrees.

Good day today. Got some new drum heads to replace worn and tearing ones on my kit, got them installed, and had a good time jamming out.
Also spending some time this evening really practicing marimba for the first time in forever. Chops are shot and my intervals are terrible, but getting up to speed again a little at a time.

I keep browsing stuff about modular synthesizers... really debating if I should go down _that_ rabbit hole, or just get better at making bizarro-land stuff using entirely acoustic sources.
Microphones kick ass once you learn how the microphones you own can be manipulated to record things in unusual ways.
